prerequisites:

• Ensure both your old Samsung phone and new Samsung phone are fully charged or connected to a charger.

• Ensure your old phone is updated to the latest version

Step-by-Step Guide to Transfer Data Using Smart Switch (Device to Device)

Step 1: Preparing the new Samsung phone

1. Power on the device and Select the Language
   
2. Agree to the end user Licence Agreement
   
3. When you reach the screen "Setup using another device" select Galaxy or Android Phone
   

1. Scan the QR code with the old phone 
2. On the old phone when prompted to open with, open with Google
   
3. On the old phone verify your device by entering your lock screen password or biometrics 
   
4. Your Google account and Wifi details will be transferred to the new phone
   

1. At this point you may be asked for network provider setup which will have a blue button to restart, this will restart your phone. 
   
2. Let the phone restart and after some loading time the page copy data from your Android device will appear
   
3. Press the blue next button 
   
4. Press the blue allow button - on both phones at any stage you need to always press allow to allow permission to transfer all your data 
   
5. On the old phone Samsung Smart Switch should automatically appear 
   
6. On the new phone you should get the screen Transfer your data - you can wither pick wireless or if you have a C to C cable you can connect the phones via the cable and press via cable 
   
7. New device will search for data to transfer and then present you with the options of what can be transferred, press on everything or only specific items using the custom choice and click the blue next 
   
8. You might get a message to backup WhatsApp which can be done at a later stage (DO not open WhatsApp on the new phone until backup of WhatsApp is done on the old phone) Press the blue next button and data transfer will begin. 
   
9. Allow this to complete and continua with the onscreen instruction
